Mansfield Plastic Bag Ban

Do you ever find yourself walking out of the grocery store with multiple plastic bags that then end up crowding your cabinets at home? Soon this won’t be an issue because in February 2019, the Mansfield Town Council passed the “Bring Your Own Bag” ordinance, which bans plastic shopping bags from Mansfield in six months. Plastic is harmful to the environment and most of it ends up in the oceans where it breaks down into microplastics. Shopping bags are consumed by wildlife leading to horrible health problems, and even death. Now, plastic shopping bags will no longer be available in Mansfield, therefore requiring shoppers to bring along reusable bags

Reusable Bags

One complaint shoppers have is the added expense of purchasing a reusable bag and remembering to bring it along. In order to solve this, you need to look no further than your own closet. Over time, we accumulate extra t-shirts that we have no intention of wearing. With a few simple steps, these shirts can be turned into no-sew t-shirt bags. They take up very little space and it’s easier to carry your groceries in a bag than in your arms.
