China's animal testing policies

By law, some parts of China require their products to be tested on animals. Beware of false labels: if a brand is manufactured elsewhere, but still trades in China, then it is legally required to undergo animal testing.


For example iT cosmetics marks its products as cruelty free, but the company was recently bought by L'Oreal, who does trade in China. Many times a brand can claim it doesn't test on animals, but if its parent company trades in China then it actually does.
